Teaching Practice Phase 2 - Reflection

Teaching practice has been an incredibly rewarding and enriching experience. Throughout this journey, I have gained valuable insights into lesson planning, classroom management, and student engagement. It has been fulfilling to see students actively participate, grasp new concepts, and develop their understanding through interactive learning. One of the key highlights of my teaching practice was the opportunity to build strong relationships with students. Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment helped boost their confidence and motivation. I also learned the importance of flexibility—adapting my teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students ensured that every learner had the opportunity to succeed. Classroom management was another area where I saw growth. By using clear expectations, engaging activities, and positive reinforcement, I was able to maintain a structured yet supportive atmosphere. Innovative woks used in Teaching practice - Phase 1 & phase 2

In the first phase,  I used a working model of human respiratory system to teach the chapter- 'Respiration and Excretion'. I used cardboard, colour paper, plastic straw and balloon etc to make this model. By using this model, I could teach the topic in a interactive way. All students in the class  showed enthusiasm for hands- on learning. Using a working model of the respiratory system to teach students about respiration enhances understanding through visualization and hands-on interaction.  In the second phase, I used an innovative model, 3D ecological pyramid to teach food chain, and energy transfer through each trophic levels.  Using a 3D ecological pyramid to teach food chains and energy transfer enhances student engagement, deepens understanding, and provides a hands-on learning experience.

Teaching practice phase 2 -4th week

Day:12 (27/1/2025) I got a substitution period in 8th class. In the 5th perid, I aacoomponied with girls in 8th standard to school ground for gave them training on cycle balancing, it is a programme orgsnised by Lions club. Day: 13 (28/01/2025) Today I had classes in 8th and 9th standard.  Day :14(29/01/2025) Today I had classes in 9th standard.Bring 8th standard  students to school ground for PT. Day:15 (30/01/2025) Today I had classes in 8th and 9th standard.I incorporate ICT in classroom for todays lesson. Day: 16 (31/01/2025) Today was the last day for our teaching practice phase -2. I colected data for my project work using Rating scale from 8th standard students.

Teaching practice phase 2- Demonstration class

Day:9 (22nd january 2025) Today I took a demonstration class  for B.Ed first year students(natural science) from P.T M college of education.I taught the topic: Growth of Zygote-different stages involved- Morula, blastocyst,Implantation etc.I gave them activities after divided them into groups, atlast I asked review questions individually and gave them a follow up question. I could able to took class effectively. Day:10 (23/1/2025) Today I had classes in 8th standard on 2nd& 7th period.I got a substitution duty in 9th standard.

Teaching practice phase 2- third week

Day:7(20th january 2025) I had classes in 8th and 9th standards. In 9th I taught development of foetus and major changes in the body of pregnant woman.In class 8th I taught them biodiversity conservation-in-situ. Day:8 (21st january 2025) I got substitution calsses 9th B, I taught them antenatal care, medical termination of pregnancy, bad habits affecting reproductive health. Extra duty: I accomponied with the boys in classes 8th and 9th classes to Edutheatre for an awareness class on drug abuse and adolescence issues.

Teaching practice phase 2- Second week

Day:5(13th january 2025) I had classes in 8B and 9B. I distributed them pending notes today. Day:6(17th january 2025) I got susbstitution classes in 5th B,9th B, 7th A. In 9th B, I showed them a video of fertilisation to parturition.
